🐾 Tara’s Journey: Wildlife Guide to Tours & Travels

I began my journey in the tourism world as a safari guide, spending my days out in the bush introducing travellers to the wildlife, landscapes and ecosystems that make Southern Africa so extraordinary. Guiding wasn’t just a job for me — it shaped the way I understand nature, conservation and the importance of creating meaningful, respectful experiences for guests.

Working in lodges and reserves across the region gave me first‑hand insight into the work of trackers, rangers, local communities and conservation teams. It taught me how to read the land, how to move with wildlife, and how to help travellers connect deeply with the places they visit.

Joining my mom at All About Africa felt like a natural next step. I now use my guiding background to help travellers design the kind of itineraries I once led myself — journeys that are immersive, responsible and grounded in real bush experience. I also continue to guide through horseback safaris, sharing the wilderness from a slower, more intimate perspective. Working across both roles keeps me connected to the realities of the bush and brings practical insight into every trip I help create.
