About Me — Claire Oertle

I founded All About Africa in 2000 after many years in the global tourism industry. I was born and raised in Namibia, where my love for Southern Africa began — exploring Etosha, the desert landscapes and the wild Skeleton Coast from a young age. After spending eight years travelling around the world and working in hospitality in Switzerland, I settled in Cape Town and decided to turn my passion for Southern Africa into my work.

Over the years, I’ve travelled widely through Botswana, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Mozambique, South Africa and Eswatini. My work takes me into wildlife reserves, small towns, community projects and conservation areas across the region. This first‑hand knowledge helps me design personalised safari itineraries and tailor‑made Southern Africa tours grounded in real experience.

Our clients value my honest guidance, quick communication and deep local insight. I understand what travellers need to feel safe, inspired and well cared for — and I take pride in offering thoughtful, reliable recommendations.

Many of our long‑standing partners are based in Germany, and I work confidently in both English and German. I continue to collaborate with travel agents and tour operators worldwide, always looking for new ways to showcase the beauty and diversity of Southern Africa. At All About Africa, we hand‑select every lodge, route and experience to match your interests and your budget — ensuring your African journey feels personal, authentic and unforgettable.
